Crossroads: Solo Exhibition at Trinity Arts

Crossroads @ Trinity Arts

June 28-August 28, 2025

I’ve been working toward this show for the last 2 years, and I’m so happy it’s time to share it with you. All three bodies of work—from the past decade—have never been shown before, and I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to show them together.

Artist Fritz Liedtke’s work moves in the liminal spaces between belief and becoming. In Sacred, Lost, and The Weight of History, he fuses photography, encaustic, and mixed media, incorporating fragments of traditional iconography in non-traditional ways.

These images reflect on faith: what it costs to cling to it, to embody it, or to question it.  They ask: What does it mean to believe? And when our faith begins to shift, what might we lose, what might we find, and who might we become on the other side?

Opening Reception:

I’ll be giving a brief introduction to the series during a reception on Sunday, June 29, 2025, 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM.

First Thursday Artist Talk:

The bigger event will be the First Thursday Artist Talk, where I’ll share more about the work, and give a guided tour with lots of time for Q&A. August 7, 5-7pm.

Open Viewing Hours:

Viewing: During the week, viewing times are: Sundays 8:30 am-12:00 pm; Tuesdays–Thursdays 10:00 am-3:00 pm

The show is located in the beautiful, historic Trinity Cathedral, in NW Portland: 147 NW 19th Ave, Portland, OR 97209

(There is roof construction currently, but you can still enter during open hours. Just head through the courtyard to the main entrance, and press the call button and you will be let in.)
