Dance Obscura
Dance Obscura is a series of photographs born from close collaboration with dancers, exploring relationships, vulnerability, and inner struggle through the expressive language of the body. Created using a custom-built set, the work embraces partial visibility, allowing bodies, fabric, and light to dissolve into one another. What emerges is not a record of choreography, but images in which movement and form become a language for emotion.
The images often speak to relationship and inner struggle: moments of connection, resistance, surrender. Gestures are fragmented, figures appear ghostlike, and boundaries between self and other, presence and absence, begin to blur. Discipline gives way to vulnerability as the body becomes a site of expression for what cannot easily be put into words.
These photographs hold fleeting, ephemeral moments. At its core, Dance Obscura is about collaboration across disciplines and the quiet power of shared trust, revealing how the body carries emotion, memory, and meaning beneath the surface of form.
